Obituary of Phillip L. Gilbert

Phillip L. Gilbert, 53, of Ripley, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 19, 2024 at his home.

He was born on September 9, 1970, in Westfield, NY the son of Robert L. Sr. and Marilyn (Carris) Gilbert.

Phil graduated from Ripley High School and worked as a welder for General Electric in Erie, Pa for many years.  He also worked on the family farm raising black angus cattle.

He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Gilbert of Ripley, NY; his sister, Crystal (Scott) Ottaway of  Mayville, NY and three brothers, Robert L.  (Luanne Elder) Gilbert Jr. of Westfield, NY, Mark Gilbert of Ripley, NY and Gerald (Melodye) Gilbert of Glennallen, AK; His life- long friend that was like his brother Mike (Tina) Perdue, his 2 God Daughters  Kalyn and Taylor Perdue, also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Phil was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Gilbert Sr.

As per Phil’s wishes there will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life service will be held on the family farm date and time to be announced.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
