WESTFIELD - Eli C. Hawkins, age 56, of Washington Street, Westfield, formerly of Mayville, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk following a brief illness.

Mr. Hawkins was born June 10, 1953 at Ashtabula, OH the son of the late Harley and Josephine (Koch) Hawkins Delahoy.

A Westfield resident for the past 5 years, Eli had resided in the Mayville and Sherman areas most all his life. He was a member of the Lakeshore Assembly of God in Westfield. Eli had been employed by the former Kling Furniture in Mayville and the former Landsmith Cherry Factory in Ripley prior to his disability retirement. Eli enjoyed raising chickens and collected all things "chicken". His love was for his family and for his dog, Razor.

He is survived by his brother: Harley J. Hawkins of Westfield, and several nieces and nephews that include; Linda, Harley, Selma, Josie, Odia, Bambi, Paula, Daisy, Suzy, and Paul,Jr.;, as well as his two sister in laws, Elda Hawkins of Westfield, and Selma Hawkins of Brocton.

Besides his parents, Eli was preceded in death by his brother, Paul H. Hawkins.

A Funeral will be held on Monday at 12 noon at the Lakeshore Assembly Of God, 252 East Main Street, Westfield with Rev. Vincent Sanzo officiating. Eli’s family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral at the Lakeshore Assembly of God. Private burial will be in Sherman Valley Cemetery.
